Caring Nature – Decision Support System

Goal

Goal definition

In this phase the User will formulate the purpose of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for a specific product, service, or process. In the provided tools the User will answer a series of questions that will enable to fulfil the main areas that need to be considered as defined by ISO 14044. LCA results are often strongly dependent on the choices made in this key phase.

Note: When Environmental Life Cycle Assessment (E-LCA), Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA), and Life Cycle Costing (LCC) are conducted within the same study, the Goal and Scope Definition shall be aligned and consistently applied across the three assessments. This alignment ensures that environmental, social, and economic results refer to the same system, functional unit, scenarios, geographic boundary, and time frame, thereby enabling integrated interpretation and informed decision-making.
